We just finished our Atlantic Passage (Jan 10, 2026) from Greece to Trinidad after a sizable refit in Greece 2025.  BLUE MOON is a REAL SAILBOAT and NOT a "condo on keels".  While she is comfortable to live in the Marina or at Anchor, this boat is comfortable due to it being able to sail well at most angles, safely and at a very good rate of cruising speed.  There is a reason people like Catana's and BLUE MOON is no exception.

BLUE MOON is more than just a fast boat; she is a self-sustaining yacht. In 2025 and 2026 (current), she underwent a comprehensive refit to prepare for an Atlantic and future Pacific crossing. This is not a cosmetic touch-up; it was a complete mechanical and electrical rebirth. From the drivetrain minor rebuild and New Standing Rigging to the massive 1700Ah Lithium 24v battery bank, every critical system has been replaced or upgraded.

She is not a project; she is a turn-key expedition vessel ready to circumnavigate immediately.

EXPEDITION READY: Onboard Dive Center (Compressor 220v + 4 Tanks & BCDs), Watermaker, and Starlink connectivity.

DETAILED VESSEL WALKTHROUGH

1. HULL & PERFORMANCE (The Catana Pedigree) The 581 is built for sailors who want to arrive first. The hull is constructed with GRP foam sandwich and reinforced with Carbon Fiber/Twaron (Aramid) in high-stress areas for incredible stiffness and impact resistance.

Daggerboards: Allow for shallow water access (3.5ft draft) and superior upwind pointing ability.

High Bridge Deck: Eliminates slamming in rough seas, ensuring a comfortable passage.

Sailing: Full Crusader Sails from 2022, (Main, Genoa 150%, Solent/Jib) plus a NEW (Oct 2025) Oxley Stabilized (Parasailor version) Spinnaker for effortless downwind speed.

2. THE "POWER STATION" (New 2026 System) The electrical system on BLUE MOON rivals that of a superyacht. The boat is designed to live "off the grid and out of the marina" indefinitely.

Batteries: 24v 1700Ah Lithium Valley LiFePO4 Bank (New Feb 2026).

Solar: Existing Custom Arch with existing Hardtop housing a 2.25kW Solar Array, managed by Victron BlueSolar MPPT Controllers.

Inverters: 2 x Victron Quattro 8000W (16kW total output) & a Victron Multiplus II 3000W accepts global shore power (110v/220V).  Also outputs VAC 110v (60hz) /220v (50hz) as well as VDC 12v/24v.

Management: Complete CZone Digital Switching & Victron Cerbo GX integration (2026) with Relay to Generator.

Generator: 2022 Cummins Onan 11kW 220v Marine QD (Backup power, 1500 hrs, barely used now). (2022)

Workshop: Dedicated ship's air compressor (BK1190) for tools and maintenance.

Ground Tackle and others (The "Sleep Well" Package)

Primary Anchor: 50kg (110lb) Rocna (Oct 2025). The gold standard for holding power.

Chain: Massive 150m (492ft) of 12mm Chain. Allows for safe anchoring in deep anchorages where other boats cannot go.

Secondary: 40kg Delta Anchor (Backup).

Windlass: 5hp Custom, very powerful with remote control at helms.
