In 2015/16 we spent about 15000 euros and 6 months full time setting our boat up to sail around the world, back to New Zealand.   Now our second child is due so we have decided to postpone our plans and sell our boat.   The refit comprised basically of replacing every service with new or high quality used materials,   including:   All safety gear, new ocean rated life raft, Epirb, saftey lines, lifejackets, series drouge, etc   We replaced every part of the standing rigging except the mast and the spreader ends with new stainless wires, turnbuckles, spreaders, spreader bases, mast bolts and chain plates.   All new water storage and plumbing, including solid plastic water tanks (280L), pipes, taps, foot pumps, toilet, manual/electric bilge pumps, every through hull including cockpit drains.   New 12v windlass, 100m 8mm tested chain and a 15kg Rocna Anchor.   New kerosene cooker and 12v compressor fridge.   We revamped and replaced every part of the electrical system including new batteries, solarpanel, Duo charger controller, depthsounder, VHF/AIS, switchboard, Led interior lights, LED dual colour/anchor top light, autopilot.   We installed a used Marine HF radio and Powersurvivor 40e watermaker.   Windpilot wind steering gear.   The engine starts easily and doesn't leak oil or smoke even at start up. I believe it has low running hours. In 2011 the prop shaft and propeller was renewed. In 2016 we installed a new 210L diesel tank. The original stainless steel tank is still installed with 50L capacity.   There is a used inflatable dinghy (no leaks) and 3.5hp air cooled outboard motor.   In September 2018 she was lifted out of the water and received new antifouling.   The hull condition is as any GRP boat of this age with the odd osmosis blister here and there. But nothing of any consequence other than a cosmetic issue. Though this is reflected in the price.   A long list of all new cruising gear includes tools, fishing gear, 316 stainless screws/ nuts/ bolts. Everything you can think of that you need to sail around the world is there and in new condition.   Pessimist is a 34ft sailboat that has full head room the length of the boat. Made of GRP she is a dry boat with a fully moulded keel (no keelbolts to worry about). She is a very good sea boat that is strongly built and is designed as a long distance cruiser with good storage and a smaller cockpit to allow for more interior space. Her hull shape is so that she can carry weight and still sail well.   She is German registered and currently lives in southern Spain.   Being born in New Zealand I have grown up with boats I starting sailing as a child and had planning this trip since then. Everything that I felt wasn’t strong enough for New Zealand conditions I have rebuilt or replaced.   Pessimist when long distance sailing easily covers her power needs with the solar panel. Running the AIS/GPS and fridge. Also making 10 litres of water with the watermaker in the heat of the day and not make a power loss.   All that you will need to do to sail her around the world, is to service the liferaft (as its now due for its first service), full her up with provisions and then sail down to the Canary Islands.   Please be in contact for a full inventory and more detailed photos.
