The best of the Lightnings. The semi-stagger allows more cockpit space with the same hull as later models for excellent handling and speed, and the stagger makes maintenance a lot easier than side by sides. 575SCi's .030 over w/roller cams similar to 525's, intercoolers, Weiand S/C's w/front and rear oil baths for 3.5#'s of boost and stock ECM's limiting RPM's to 5350 for just shy of 700HP. IMCO SCX-4's w/#6 shafts, shortened and shaved skegs and two sets of Hering 5 blade cleavers. Best of 107mph but typical is 102mph. Switchable exhaust, and optional set of mufflers that were removed before I bought the boat in 2004 w/34 hours on it. Full mooring cover and cockpit cover. Bimini, front and side curtains. Cockpit carpet that's never been installed. Porti-potti has never been used. Anchor, chain and line reel. Chartplotter, compass and a full compliment of gauges. Fountain pillows, and gear bag with original docs, manuals and spare keys. Myco aluminum tri-axle trailer with spare tire, polished aluminum box, jack, and one wheel bearing and seal set. Recent brakes and wheel bearings. New parts-plugs, caps, rotors, fuel pumps and filters, SS raw water pumps and impellers, oil filters and oils and many misc. parts. Used parts-fuel pump, P/S pump, alternator, SS fittings and many misc. parts. Tools-just about everything you'd need to maintain the boat, all fitted in a case that fits in the starboard side compartment. Drive jack and two drive stands. Two engine cradles. Fountain's race-proven 42' Lightning holds the current V-bottom world speed record at 143.946 mph, so you can imagine how the boat performs with stock horsepower. Staggered engines bring the props closer together and keep the center of gravity down along the keel, where it works best. Preferred power is twin 500 EFI Mercury's (80+ mph) although you can step all the way up to 900 SC's and easily push the speedometer into triple digits.
