Elder sister of the Windelo 50, the Windelo 54 is an Ocean-cruising catamaran designed by architect duo Christophe Barreau and Fréderic Neuman. The floats are nearly 120 cm larger. 60 cm of this extra space is around the nacelle, making life on board much more pleasant and comfortable.
Our Windelo 54 catamarans are environmentally friendly and seaworthy and designed for long-distance cruising. Lengthened hulls offer greater performance and speed under sail, while improving cruising comfort, particularly in rough seas. The extra room in the living spaces, accommodations, and storage spaces, and the fact that the batteries can easily be recharged under sail, mean that the Windelo 54 has an excellent cruising range. Dare to dream, dare to discover, and more so dare to live your dreams by choosing to join great sailing adventures!
Even more space!
The larger floats provide additional space in the aft cabins: owner’s cabin and starboard aft cabin offer each 60 cm more storage space than Windelo 50. The corner window is also bigger, offering a much more open view of the sea. Enjoy comfortably relaxing on our double 160x200 cm or 140x200 cm beds, and taking in the amazing view.
The bows are also nearly 40 cm longer, increasing the storage space considerably, or depending on your accommodation options, the skipper’s fore cabin.
In the nacelle, the saloon and galley are also larger increasing the comfort of these living areas, making them perfect for enjoying a good time with friends.
All the spaces are fitted with generous openings so that you can fully enjoy the panoramic sea view. In the nacelle and in the cabins, the openings are larger pushing the interior and exterior boundaries even further.
Whatever layout you have chosen for the nacelle and the floats, our Windelo 54 Adventure catamaran will allow the creation of a skipper cabin.
The nacelle, a modular social space
The key with the layout was to create a friendly space that worked for everyone and also involved everyone. The first key step was to ensure that the helm station was an integral part of the layout. To achieve this, the central galley opens out onto the forward cockpit, this means that cooking and steering are both sociable activities. In fact, with the help of the autopilot, you could easily do both at the same time! It also means that crew who are relaxing in the saloon are readily available to lend a hand at a moment’s notice.
There are other thoughtful practical benefits such as the extremely comfortable 115x200 pilot berth, situated in the main saloon within easy reach of the helm.
In the saloon layout, there is a chart table at the foot of the forward cockpit, which makes circulation on board easier.
Meanwhile, to give you some idea of the sort of space available, the saloon dining table expands to accommodate from 6 to 12 people. At anchor, you can also use an additional outside table from 6 to 12 people. Depending on the power output of your solar panels, the nacelle roof can be fitted with sun pads for sunbathing at anchor.
