Description

Sedan version of the rugged Beneteau Swift Trawler 34.

Built new in 2011

Designed by Joubert/Nivelt and built by Chantiers Beneteau

UK VAT paid, British SSR registered. CE cat B for 8 persons

Equipped for economical offshore and European waters cruising with a single, Cummins 330hp diesel engine. Berths for up to 6 persons, wide side decks, easy access for berthing, deep and secure aft cockpit, comfortable saloon, great owner’s cabin and fantastic seakeeping abilities have made the Swift Trawler 34 a remarkable success.

Construction

Steel blue GRP semi displacement hull with ¾ centre keel, stern bathing platform, opening access doors to bathing platform from cockpit and from starboard gangway, midships for easy docking. White GRP deck and superstructure with large upper sunpad and draining aft cockpit. Covered aft cockpit. Wide secure starboard gangway to steps up to raised foredeck and port side deck.

Three panel sliding doors saloon to cockpit, full height sliding door from helm station to starboard gangway.

Alpi mahogany internal joinery and parquet effect laminate floorboards with engine access under.

Non standard Lewmar sliding overhead hatch in pilothouse deckhead.

Hydraulic steering to semi balanced stainless steel rudder.

Stainless steel adjustable trim tabs.

Engine

Cummins QSB 5.9 330hp 6 cylinder diesel engine. Fitted beneath saloon in sound deadened compartment on flexible mounts. Reversing reduction gearbox, shaft drive to fixed pitch 5 bladed bronze propeller. Electric, single lever controls. Flat out up to 17 knots and approximately 1,451 hours run. Assorted engine spares. Regularly serviced.

Electrics

12 volt system – 2 x 140ah domestic batteries (new in 2016), 2 x 50ah engine batteries (new in 2017). 4 x 6v thruster batteries. Charged by engine driven alternator or battery charger through 220v shore power. 12v interior and navigation lights inc. bow, stern steaming and anchor light. 3 x windscreen wipers/washers. Blown air demisters. Deck wash pump with hose.

220 volt system – Shore power cable and socket to RCCB, ring main with outlets, battery charger and immersion heater in calorifier tank.

Guest cabin – to port with 2 single bunks and hanging locker.

Up steps to:

Helm station – to starboard with instrumentation, adsjustable helm seat, lowering floor panel and full height sliding door to gangway. Additional Lewmar opening hatch over helm for light and ventilation.

Galley – U shaped galley to port with double sink, hot and cold pressurised water, two burner gas hob with toughened glass cover, gas oven, and 12v/240v fridge. Assorted stowage.

Saloon – Settee to starboard that can convert easily to pull out sofa bed. Height adjustable saloon table with internal leaves to extend. Cupboards to port. 2 x folding “Director’s” style chairs. Slide opening side windows.

Access to aft cockpit through 3 part sliding doors.

Deck

Deep, secure aft cockpit teak laid with additional cockpit bench. Navy blue cockpit enclosure (windows in the enclosure were replaced in 2018). Large storage locker under cockpit sole with ladder access. Ladder leading to wheelhouse roof sunbathing area, the ladder was modified to improve circulation. Transom door leading to teak laid bathing platform with folding swim ladder. Cockpit hot and cold shower. Door to starboard leading to teak laid deep gangway forward to helm door and side access to pontoon. Steps to foredeck with high stainless steel guard rail. Lewmar V2/3 1,000w up and down anchor windlass. 16kg Brittany anchor that self stows on stem head fitting. 50m of 10mm anchor chain. Bow, stern and spring mooring cleats. Mooring warps and fenders. Boathook. Fender baskets. Danforth kedge anchor with chain and warp.

Safety kit

Manual and electric bilge pumps. Hazetech gas alarm. Echomax radar reflector, mast mounted. Lifebuoy and light. 2 x additional grabhandles in saloon. Fire blanket. Fire extinguishers (not guaranteed in date). 2 x engine room remote fire extinguishers.  

FYS Comments

Nicely maintained and intelligently specc’ed from new “Footloose” is a great opportunity of one of the rarer Sedan version of the incredibly successful Beneteau Swift Trawler 34. A fantastic sea boat, easy to handle around marinas with her thrusters and access to the pontoon and with the Sedan version the ability to also cruise inland waterways. Just arrived.
