Beschrijving

The Trader 535 Sunliner is always high on the perfect long-distance passage-maker list, and for very good reason. This Med. ready example from 2000 is on the high spec. Caterpillar 660hp diesels, with hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, recent batteries, air-co. and tender. The superb aft cabin arrangement is a true home from home, and the tried and tested layout is a masterstroke.

Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean”.

 

Hull Construction:

  • The hull is constructed of hand-laid GRP using woven rovings and chopped strand mat with integral stiffening.
  • Four full width plywood bulkheads are bonded to the hull and deck, complete with bonded longitudinals stringers with hardwood inserts which form the engine bearers to complete the hull stiffening.
  • The hull is finished in white gelcoat, complemented by dark blue hull band and dark blue boot-top lines in a traditional Trader finish – annually fully polished, last polished April 2019.
  • The hull is protected by a full-length stainless steel rubbing strake at hull/deck join.
  • Stainless steel opening inward opening hull ports throughout length of hull.
  • Two large stainless steel inward opening ports to transom (allowing escape from master cabin).

 

Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • The deck, superstructure & flybridge are constructed of hand-laid GRP in the same manner as the hull.
  • The deck & superstructure and flybridge structures are separate mouldings from the hull structure.
  • The aft deck is fully protected by a GRP-moulded deckhead running aft of the flybridge structure.
  • The superstructure is bolted and bonded to the hull along the bulwark line.
  • The sidedecks feature a GRP raised bulwark.
  • The deck areas are sheathed in prime quality teak with black caulking compound between planks.  The flybridge and the bathing platform are also teak laid.
  • The forward coachroof is GRP with a moulded non-slip finish.
  • External windows are safety glass, frameless and bonded to the superstructure moulding in aluminium frames.
  • There is a watertight sliding door to the wheelhouse on the starboard side.
  • Access to the saloon is via a sliding aluminium framed patio-style door from the aft deck.
  • Teak decked bathing platform accessed by stairway.

Machinery

Engines & Gearboxes:

  • Twin Caterpillar 3196 diesel engines, 660hp @ 2300 RPM, with 12L displacement.
  • Turbo-charged and after-cooled, with electronic governor.
  • Shaft drives via mechanical ZF325A reduction gearboxes.

 

Maintenance & Performance:

  • Port: 1650 hrs @ April 2019.
  • Starboard: 1725 hrs @ April 2019.
  • Last major service in 2014 by Caterpillar service agents, with annual professional checks at each launch.
  • Economical passage speed- 10/11 knots (approx.)

Tankage

Fuel:

  • Approx. 2,600 litres (572 gallons) in 2 steel fuel tanks located in engine room to port & starboard outboard of engines, and 100 gallon extra tank.
  • Fuel system allows either engine to draw and return to either tank via cross-over valves and manifolds.
  • Fuel gauges for both tanks at lower helm with sight gauges on each tank.
  • Stainless steel deck fillers on port & starboard sidedecks allowing filling of both tanks from each side via cross-over valves.

 

Fresh water:

  • 909 litre (200 gallons) fresh water tank in GRP water tank located beneath aft double berth.
  • Water gauge in galley with sight gauge on tank.

 

Grey/Blackwater holding tank/s:

  • 100 litre (26.4 gallons) black water holding tank with Tankwatch III gauge.
  • Deck pump-out facility and overboard discharge pump.

Navigation Equipment

  • Cetrek instruments, log, depth, speed and auto pilot all repeated on flybridge.
  • Cetrek chart plotter at lower helm, Standard Horizon plotter on flybridge.

Accommodation

Summary of Accommodation:

  • High quality handcrafted teak with raised mouldings, with solid teak vented doors and frames.
  • The joinery is finished in gloss varnish to create a light and airy interior with excellent ambience under both natural and artificial lighting.
  • All door handles and drawers are brass finished.
  • The heads compartments are white laminate trimmed with teak to enable easy cleaning.  Shower doors are solid teak with textured glass panels.
  • The heads sink-surrounds and galley work surfaces are beige patterned marble. All other surfaces are teak.
  • The curtains throughout the yacht are finished in cream fabric. 
  • Neutral oatmeal coloured carpeting features in all cabins bar the heads and galley.  All floors are finished with teak and holly, even if carpeted.
  • The headlinings throughout the yacht are white padded vinyl.
  • Headroom is 6’4”+ in all cabins.

VIP Guest Cabin:

  • Centreline Queen size double berth.
  • 2 x brass reading lights.

  • 5 x top opening storage lockers lie in the main shelving area around the berth (2 on either side and one at head of bed.

  • 1 x deadhead hatch over berth (provides excellent light and can also double as an escape hatch, this also provides excellent ventilation if not using the air conditioning system.

  • Cream finished seating on either side of berth with storage underneath.
  • The cream carpet is unfixed and lies above a teak and holly floor which runs throughout the yacht.
