1987 Skipjack Hardtop Express
Selling our first power boat. Moving on to a bigger and newer model. This is a well maintained boat. The beam is 8'6". It trailers really well. A 25 foot boat on a 30 foot trailer makes it super maneuverable. We pulled it up the San Juan Islands in Washington 2 summers ago and had no problems. I call it a big, little boat.
Rebuilt Chevy 350, 12/18, 90 hours since, recent rebuilt carburetor, new starter and solenoid, new impeller, new distributor, newish batteries, recent oil change, new bellows and hoses replaced when the engine was out, new Y-pipe, new bottom paint, custom redwood swim platform, upgraded waste disposal and mascerator, newish toilet hand-pump, stand up head, recent new paint, recent Garmin fish finder 54cv, Furno radar, new gas lines and all hoses and belts are new since rebuild, custom wood side panels, custom seats at the helm, (I have the original seats; poor condition and original swim step; good condition, and Bait Tank), anchor wench; 80 feet of chain and over 120 feet of rope. I bought the boat without a cabin stove. We use the space for storage. We use a camping stove when we cook. Trailer tires are 2016 and in good condition. Bearings have been recently inspected and repacked. New brake drums and brake assemblies. Brakes on one axle. Trailer could use new leaf springs but ok for now. New brake lines and recent master cylinder upgrade. 2 5/16 hitch, recent fuel pump, canvas is in good condition. I am a wood worker and I recently improved the drawers and cabinets. Teak wood. This boat is super comfortable and my family has had many wonderful moments. Since we have owned it we have been to the San Juan Islands, Winchester Bay, Oregon, Lake Shasta, Lake Tahoe, New Bullards Bard Lake, Lake Oreville, Catalina Island, Santa Cruz Island, Morro Bay, Anacapa, and many day trips to Santa Barbara and Channel Islands Harbor from Ventura Harbor. Needs a new windshield wiper. Here is what I love about this boat. We consider it a camper on the water. It has a partially enclosed pilot house and hardtop so you don't get blasted by the wind. The cabin is full of windows so there is lots of light and when it's cold outside you can go below and still have a view. Dedicated Dinette that converts to a bed and a dedicated Vbirth bed. This is very rare in a boat this size. Every year around the holidays, we take a holiday cruise in the keys to see the lights. The front hatch is huge and easy to get in and out of and easy access to the bow and anchor. It's a work boat and a cabin cruiser. I wanted a sturdy and reliable boat for my first boat and this one delivers. Skipjack boats have an excellent reputation of getting you back from where you came from. I live in Ojai and the boat is at my house on a trailer. Come and give it a look and if you are interested and I will take you on a harbor cruise in Ventura Harbor and if the ocean cooperates a short sea trial out past the breakwater. Masks and social distancing are required. Dingy and davits are not included in the sale and not available to purchase.
