Walk Around Outside while on the Hard

The Cheer Men hull and design (by John Norek) have the traditional full displacement, hard chine stable and seaworthy that cruising trawlers can rely on for comfort and safe handling in all types of sea conditions. A proud bow to disperse the oncoming waves and minimize roll. Twin engines separated for better maneuvering and close quarters handling. Large rudders aft of the prop result in instant response. Full keel for easy tracking.

The fly bridge profile appears sleeker (not as high) and more open when compared with a Grand Banks Fly Bridge so it doesn't appear to be as top heavy.

Walk Around the Deck

Entering the boat from the swim platform the decks are all original teak (glued and screwed). Most areas on the boat the teak is in acceptable condition, but there are some areas which need attention. Large Chocks surround the deck with cleat wings allow for convenient docking line security. Stanchions and a teak handrail also surround the deck for secure walking around the easy wide deck. 

There is a gangway stored on the aft cabin top for easy access to the dock when tied up. A large hatch over the aft cabin (master cabin) with hatch cover. There's also a locker at this level for Propane tank storage (2 tanks). The current owners have a dinghy (which goes with the boat that was stored on a frame over the aft cabin top (Partially removed). 

Moving up to the fly bridge there is a very open and comfortable feel to the fly bridge area. A large "L" settee on the port side with a comfortable couch on Starboard surround a beautiful Teak table with fold down leaves. Just forward of the table is a single swiveling   helm seat with destroyer wheel in the center of the bridge area. 

Electronics (VHF, Auto Pilot, intercom depth sounder, etc) on either side of the engine controls and gauges. Storage lockers are on either side of the console for lots of the usual "Stuff" including spare props.

On Port side just aft of the "L" settee is an electric davit. for launching and returning the dinghy.

Walking forward feels very secure on the Cheer Men Pt 41 with hand rails and a good size deck on either side of the cabin. Doors on either side of the boat side aft to open so they do not impede as you move forward or aft. On the foredeck the forward cabin has a large Lewmar hatch and handrails. The deck has a gentle slope up to the bow with an anchor platform for 2 anchors, Lofrans windlass, and post for secure tying of anchor rode or dock lines. Salt water wash down forward. 

Walk Around the Main Cabin Inside

Entering the cabin on the Port side, the TV is mounted over the refrigerator/freezer which is basically on centerline facing the main cabin. Just to starboard of the refrigerator/freezer is the 3 burner stove and oven also facing the main cabin. Outside the stove/oven is a counter space with dry storage locker. Just forward is a dual sink with single lever faucet. Just forward of the sink is a large open counter space with abundant storage drawers underneath. Just behind the helm station is a good size microwave oven with more storage draws underneath. Over-all a very spacious and efficient galley with lots of convenient storage.

The main helm station is just forward of the galley next to the starboard doorway. Under the helm seat is an Ice maker. With the door next to the helm station the access to the deck is simple and convenient. On the countertop in front of the helmsman are the dual handle engine throttle and shift controls, a compass, fish finder (depth) and a small GPS for quick navigation use. (Very simple and clean). Overhead are the engine gauges showing over 5200 hours and other gauges as well as Stop/Start/ wipers, and horn button and Judson Micro-sync. Jensen stereo system with speakers around the boat. Hanging below the overhead are intercom, the auto pilot controls, Raytheon VHF, and Micrologic GPS, and Polaris Loud Hailer.

Just on port side of the overhead are the controls for the Westerbeke Generator.

On the side of the companionway going below forward is the Heart Interface energy monitoring system and a fuse panel switches. Just forward of the helm wheel is a large electric panel with labeled switches for most of the boat. A Switch for Shore Power or Generator and a master battery switch.

On the port side countertop is a lamp and very open area for the navigator to spread out the charts and use the KVH Quadro Navigating system to plot your course. On the port side is a large "L" settee with a table that unfolds and can be converted into a large double bed. or be the dining room table. Just forward of the port side door is a comfortable desk and chair with boat files and work station. A Brass clock and large cast "Cloud Nine" bell are located just aft of the doorway over a small cabinet and Heat/ AC outlet vent.

Walk Around Aft Cabin

Descending aft into the Master Cabin the walk around centerline queen size bed is tucked in a little bit under the stern cockpit but has a "Headboard" or "Footboard" that can be propped up for your choice to help define the walk around area or sleep with you head forward. Reading lamps are on either side aft. Currently there is an electric heating pad with two controls to warm the bed for you. Bed side platforms with storage lockers on either side and large storage cabinets and drawers. A full size mirror. There's lots of headroom and easy to walk around. A hanging locker is forward on the port side. There's an access door to the engine room behind the stairway into the cabin.

Through an arched doorway on the Starboard Side is the master head with a "Stand Up Tub " shower stall with a waterfall shower head and a Lectra/San Head.

There's a separate Air Conditioning thermostat for the aft cabin. 

Walk Around Forward Cabin

Going forward to the "Guest Quarters" on port is the head with a Manual head and sink pull out shower head. Storage Drawers on Port side currently contain spare boat parts for most of the systems on the boat and twin bunk beds on starboard. Storage drawers under the bunk and equipment lockers on port. A hanging locker is aft on the Starboard side. There's an access door to the engine room behind the stairway into the cabin.

Engine Room and Engine Access

Simple access to the engine room is through access doors in the forward and aft cabins.  With the carpet in the main salon removed there is access to the majority of the engine room available by lifting out three large deck panels and their longitudinal support member, thus allowing improved access to engines, generator, batteries, hot water heater, plumbing and electrical systems
