1973 Bellamy 90' Twin Engine Excursion Trawler A classic, solidly-constructed boat with a unique history. Ready for around-the-world journey, floating B&B, or beautiful Marina del Rey liveaboard! This vessel is one of only two built. HISTORYThis Bellamy 90 comes with a diversity of opportunities unlike other vessels in her class. The equipment, living square footage and floor plan are unheard of in vessels of this size. The most important aspect, the hull, has been updated to a new state recently and the mechanics are all in good working order. Between 1978 and 1979, it voyaged from the Bahamas to Montego Bay and then on through the Panama Canal. The Cousteau family was reported to have used it off the coast of Catalina Island to test underwater communications gear while their boat, Calypso, was in dry dock in Europe. In 1983, it began an extraordinary 29-year tenure as an ocean-learning vessel and was used to conduct student-oriented science along the California coast and in waters beyond Catalina Island. During this time it provided rich ocean experiences to an estimated 100,000 students. For more than 40 years, it received bi-annual haul outs to undergo inspections, hull repairs and new bottom paint as required and maintained an active Coast Guard COI from 1988 to 2013. Recent interior improvements include, updating several interior rooms from bunks to staterooms which changed the vessel from a strictly commercial use to a private/commercial use and increased the overall value. This is a ship that can be used for commercial or private accommodations purposes. The particular type of “massive framed construction” is built to last and made from the best materials to ensure strength and a long lifespan. Recent hull improvements represent a “major refit and refurbishment of the hull above and below the water line to good industry standards.” This feat found all wood below the water line to be in great condition which increased the value dramatically and reinforced how well built the vessel is.

The E40 represents the beginning of a new era, one where life goes just a bit slower, and money goes a bit further.     This one is located on the Caloosahatchee river about an hours and a half from the Gulf of Mexico she is loaded up with a Garmin Electronics Package , Generator , Air , and all the amenities one would need for long range cruising.     Specifications LOA:  40.32 Feet 12.29m Hull length: 39.34 ft  11.99m Beam: 13.78 Ft 4.20m Air draught: 11.15 Ft   3.40m Draught: 3.61 ft  1.10m Dry weight: 23,149   Pounds 10,500kg (approx.) This spacious and competitively priced displacement cruiser is aimed at a sector of the market that thanks to increased environmental awareness and rising fuel costs has been growing over the last decade. This particular boat was powered by a single shaft driven 150hp Volvo D3 engine, located amidships. The engine sits below the helm and is accessed through a dedicated door in the guest cabin. Space within the engine room is generous with plenty of space to get to all the service items.  For offshore cruising Bavaria  to launched an E40 powered by a single 300hp Volvo D4 and there will also be a hybrid version available.  Sensibly for a single screw boat she is fitted with bow thruster. As a displacement hull with a ballast keel the hull is designed for an optimum speed of around 8–9 knots. The keel is deep enough to protect the prop and rudder. Her very full waterline length, coupled to a 3 to 1 length-to-beam ratio, is the reason why she is fairly slippery through the water at low speed. However, once you reach 6 knots the fuel consumption equation changes rapidly. Doubling the horsepower does little in performance terms, but the consumption rate increases. The law of diminishing returns comes into play once you have reached about 9 knots. For instance, to go from 9 knots to 10 knots with just a 10% increase in speed, requires a 75% increase in fuel consumption. This is because you have reached ‘hull speed’ and the boat is catching up with and trying to climb her own bow wave. The amount of water being pushed out of the way becomes ever greater for virtually no gain in speed. At slower speeds, though, the hull is efficient, as witnessed by the fact that this near 12-tonne 40ft boat can cruise at 6 knots and use only 4.1 litres per hour. Putting in the 300hp engine will gain you 3 or 4 knots – naturally with a fuel cost, but the real gain is the extra torque needed for offshore conditions.  With this boat all the accommodation is located on the lower deck. Normally there are three double cabins – two guest cabins aft and the master cabin forward. Alternatively you can choose a full beam master aft with the forward cabin becoming guest accommodation. The main heads compartment sits opposite the shower cubicle in the forward section while there is a second heads for the guest cabins aft. The forward owner’s cabin features an island double bed with limited stowage but plenty of headroom. The helm will be familiar to anyone crossing over from a sailing background. The large wheel and binnacle-style console occupies a centrally located aft position within the wheelhouse saloon. Unusual though this layout may seem, being elevated slightly above the saloon floor the helm enjoys great visibility through the huge saloon windows, while maintaining continuity with the galley and saloon seating areas. The galley is the main feature, taking pride of place along most of the port side. It has plenty of worktop area, a double sink beside the two-ring hob and an under-top fridge.  The foredeck extends the open-air area, with dedicated cushions included in the comfort pack to give a sunbathing area without interfering with the cockpit seating. If you want more open air space there is a flybridge version in production. Various changes from standard are available: the guard rails along the side decks, for example, can be exchanged for rigid versions with offset stanchions to provide a wider walkway. A great deal of thought has gone into how people use their boats in the main, and the truth is, many 40-knot cruisers spend the majority of their time at much slower speeds. Bavaria have concluded that there is a huge amount of wasted horsepower installed in boats, much of it never used. Nordhavn 68

    2021
    Op aanvraag

The distinct styling of the 62 has been a Nordhavn hallmark for nearly twenty years, and the 68 captures the essence of this vessel yet it incorporates the latest thinking in design, systems and technology and packages it all into a beamier, heartier hull. The interior is stunning with modern styling and beautiful teak joiner work. And despite the size advantage, this vessel is just as easily managed by a cruising couple without need for captain and crew. Stepping onto the boat, the massive size of the 21-foot wide expanse can be immediately felt. The 68 carries its beam further aft and has a higher freeboard forward, thus providing more room on the inside. Offered in both an asymmetrical and dual walk-around layout, the huge saloon is an ideal gathering area for when the yacht plays host to larger groups. Meanwhile, cooking for the masses is a snap in the large gourmet galley with such features as granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Because the 68 is an aft pilothouse model, the foredeck is open so there are deck hatches for lots of light and ventilation. This is especially noticeable in the full-beam Master Suite and its luxurious head and shower forward. There are full size port lights positioned on either side which show off breathtaking views. Located just two steps down and forward from the saloon/ galley area, the bright and airy cabin offers its owners a pleasant haven for an afternoon nap or good night’s sleep. Like the larger luxurious vessels in the Nordhavn fleet - the 72, 75EYF, 76, 78 and 86 – the Nordhavn 68 is filled with the best equipment as standard including hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, ABT stabilizers, air conditioning, and Stidd helm chairs. “This boat is so featurepacked there is not a regular option sheet for it,” says Streech.
